Karolina Habało

Karolina Habało is a graduate of the Academy of Music in Kraków, where she studied with Sirkka-Liisa Kaakinen and Zbigniew Pilch. Her artistic development was strongly shaped by further studies in Italy with Enrico Onofri and Elisa Citterio. She has taken part in numerous international programmes, including Génération Baroque (as concertmaster), Academia Beethoven 250, Talenti Vulcanici, OAE Academy, I Giovani della Montis Regalis, and the Britten-Pears Young Artist Programme.

She currently teaches historical violin at the Academy of Music in Gdańsk. 

She is the founder, concertmaster, and artistic director of the baroque orchestra Cornu Copiae - one of the leading young ensembles on the Polish early music scene, regularly appearing at the country’s most important festivals. In 2024, she was awarded the “Young Poland” (Młoda Polska) scholarship from the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. She is active on concert stages in Poland and abroad.

Since 2019, she has regularly performed with Jordi Savall’s Le Concert des Nations. She has collaborated with leading figures in the field of historically informed performance, including Alfredo Bernardini, Paul McCreesh, Christophe Rousset, Enrico Onofri, Lars Ulrik Mortensen, Rachel Podger, and Robert Hollingworth. Since 2018, she has also been a permanent member of Musicae Antiquae Collegium Varsoviense at the Warsaw Chamber Opera, performing as a tutti player, leader, and chamber musician.

She is fluent in Italian and has worked as a translator with RAI (Italy’s public television and radio) and Polish music festivals. In her free time, she enjoys creative writing and taking care of her plants.
