Maurycy Raczyński
harpsichord and pianoforte
A Polish harpsichordist of the young generation. He graduated from the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, where he studied harpsichord with Marek Toporowski, and from the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Versailles under Blandine Rannou. He also studied in Lyon within the Erasmus programme with Jean-Marc Aymes. He is a prizewinner of international harpsichord competitions in Pesaro, Leipzig, Cluj-Napoca, L’Aquila and a recipient of the Young Poland (Młoda Polska) Scholarship 2025.
He works as a harpsichordist at the Warsaw Chamber Opera. He performs at early music festivals in Poland and across Europe. He has composed music for film and theatre. His artistic interests focus on baroque French music, as well as projects combining early, ethnic, and oriental traditions. He also performs on knee fiddles and medieval keyboard instruments after studying under Maria Pomianowska (Academy of Music in Kraków) and Corina Marti (Schola Cantorum Basiliensis), and teaches at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice. In 2025, he began doctoral studies in historical performance practice and instrument making at the Academy of Music in Poznań. Member and co-founder of the Ensembles and projects such as: Ensemble Overtone, Muzyka Sfer, Aetas Baroca.
